New NAR Code of Ethics Requirement

New 3-year Cycle Announced
All REALTORS® will have to take Code of Ethics Training

For years, Texas was able to use the TREC Ethics (Legal II) class as an equivalent for the NAR Code of Ethics requirement. With the new changes adopted in November 2019, Texas members will NOT be able to use that equivalent to satisfy the NAR Code of Ethics training requirement effective January 1, 2020.

What this means for you:

If you did complete TREC Legal II course in 2019, it will satisfy your NAR COE requirement for the current cycle (until Dec 31, 2021).

If you did not complete TREC Legal II course in 2019,
you must take a qualifying COE course for the current cycle (before Dec 31, 2021) or within 30 days of completing New Member Orientation.

After the current cycle ends, all members must complete an association-approved Code of Ethics Course every 3 years.
